The Odisha government has announced 199 training slots in 16 positions under various departments and department heads. The Commission, Requisitioning Authorities, or the Government may decide to change the number of open positions at any time without prior notice. Candidates belonging to the categories of Ex-Servicemen, PwD & Sports Person, when selected as per reservation provided for them, shall be adjusted against the category to which they belong (UR/SEBC/SC/ST). For example, if a PwD candidate belonging to Scheduled Caste Category (applied in Online Application Form) shall be adjusted against the Scheduled Caste vacancy advertised for the post as per Horizontal Reservation.
In case there is no vacancy advertised for SEBC/ SC/ ST for a particular post, the SEBC/ SC/ ST special category candidate when selected shall be adjusted against Unreserved (UR) category.
Candidates having permanent disability of not below 40% are eligible to apply under PwD category as per the Social Security & Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities Department, Govt. of Odisha Resolution No.1843/SSEPD Dtd.25.02.2021.
OSSC CGL Recruitment 2026 – Age Details
Candidates must be at least 21 years old and no older than 42 as of the deadline (01-01-2025).

Age Relaxation
However, the upper age limit is relaxable by 5 years for candidates belonging to SEBC, SC, ST and all Women candidates, 10 years for candidates belonging to PwD category and the total period of service rendered in defence service in case of Ex-servicemen. PwD candidates in the ST and SC category shall be entitled to cumulative age relaxation of ten years over and above the normal relaxation specified for the category. However, a candidate who comes under more than one category shall be eligible for only one benefit of age relaxation as per rule which will be most beneficial to her/him. To be eligible, candidates not enjoying any relaxation of upper age limit, must not have been born earlier than 2nd January 1983 and not later than 1″ January 2004. The Relaxation of Upper Age is applicable as per the Reservation Points available for different States as mentioned below:

OSSC CGL Recruitment 2026 – Selection Mode
The competitive examination shall comprise 4 stages namely:
Stage – I: Preliminary Examination- One paper.

Candidates numbering a minimum of five (05) times of the vacancies post-wise and categorywise shall be shortlisted for the Main written Examination based on their marks secured in the Preliminary Examination.

Candidates applying for the post of Senior Economic Investigator have to specify the subject of technical paper in their Online Application Form from the thirteen (13) subjects mentioned in the syllabus. The subject thus chosen is final and cannot be changed later.
Stage III- Computer Skill Test
Candidates applying for Inspector of Legal Metrology (FS&CW Department), Laboratory Assistant (FS&CW Department), Junior Laboratory Assistant (Directorate of Factories & Boilers, Odisha) and Junior Laboratory Assistant (State Food Testing Laboratory under Office of Commissioner of Food Safety, Odisha) are not required to appear for the Computer Skill Test.
Candidates applying for rest posts are required to qualify the Computer Skill Test. Qualifying marks in Computer Skill Test will be 50 % of the total marks. The indicative syllabus of Computer Skill Test is in Annexure-C of the Advertisement.
Stage -IV: Certificate Verification:
Candidates numbering 1.5 times of the vacancies advertised (Post wise and Category-wise) shall be shortlisted for Certificate Verification based on the marks secured in Technical Paper (s) of the Main Written Examination and having qualified in Computer Skill Test/ Skill Test
wherever applicable.
In case, during the stage of Certificate Verification, the Commission observes that the vacancy (ies) for a particular category of post(s) is/are not getting filled up completely, an additional number of candidates who have qualified in the order of merit may be called only for one more time, at the discretion of the Commission for filling up the number of vacancies not getting filled up. Candidates who fail to appear for certificate/document verification will not be considered for final selection.
The candidates will be required to produce their Original Academic Certificates, Mark sheets, caste certificate, special category certificate, NOC in case of Govt. servants and other documents as intimated in the admission letter for verification along with a set of self-attested photocopies of the same and OSSC copy of the online application form duly signed by the applicant.
OSSC CGL Recruitment 2026 – Application Fees
The candidates other than SC, ST and PwD category shall have to pay the Examination fee
of Rupees Five Hundred ( 500/- only). The examination fee paid shall be refunded to the
candidates who actually appear in the recruitment examination.
