Ex-servicemen who have already secured employment in civil side under Government in Group „C‟ & „D‟ posts on regular basis, after availing the benefits of reservation given to ex-servicemen for their re-employment, are not eligible for reservation in ESM category and fee concession. However, such candidates can avail the benefit of reservation as ex-serviceman for subsequent employment if he immediately after joining civil employment, gives selfdeclaration/undertaking to the concerned employer about the date-wise details of application for various vacancies for which he had applied for before joining the initial civil employment as mentioned in the OM No: 36034/1/2014-Estt (Res) dated 14.08.2014 issued by DoP&T.

SSC CGL Recruitment – Educational Qualification

Essential Educational Qualification	Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized University or equivalent for most posts, as on 01-08-2026.
Junior Statistical Officer (JSO)	Bachelor’s Degree in any subject with at least 60% marks in Mathematics at 12th level; or Bachelor’s Degree with Statistics as one of the subjects at degree level.
Statistical Investigator Grade-II	Bachelor’s Degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Demography, Population Studies, Operation Research, IT, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Data Science, or Artificial Intelligence.
Assistant Audit Officer / Assistant Accounts Officer	Bachelor’s Degree is essential. Desirable qualifications include CA, CMA, CS, M.Com, MBA (Finance), or M.B.E.
Appearing Candidates	Final year candidates may apply, but they must possess the essential qualification on or before 01-08-2026.
Distance Learning Degrees	Accepted only if approved by Distance Education Bureau, UGC, for Central Government employment. Proof must be produced at document verification.

Staff Selection Commission CGL – Selection Mode

A two-tier Computer Based Examination (CBE) is used for selection. In accordance with the protocol provided by SSC via Notice dated 02-06-2025, marks obtained in CBE performed in various shifts will be adjusted. Re-evaluation or re-checking of scores at any point is not permitted.

The Computer Based Examination will be conducted in two tiers as indicated below:

With the exception of English Comprehension, Tier-I comprises Objective Type/MCQ questions in both Hindi and English. 0.50 points are deducted for each incorrect response.

Negative marking in Tier-II: 1 mark per wrong answer in Section-I, II, III of Paper-I; 0.50 marks in Paper-II and Paper-III. Section-III (CKT) and Section-IV (DEST) are qualifying in nature. Each Paper-I portion must be qualified independently by candidates. Certain positions (CSS, MEA, AFHQ, SFIO, CBIC, Postal, etc.) have higher CKT and DEST requirements. For PwBD applicants who qualify for scribe, compensatory time of 20 minutes per hour is provided.

SSC CGL 2026 – Exam Centers

A candidate must indicate the Centre(s) in the online Application Form in which he desires to take the examination. Tentative list of Examination Centres along with details of Regional Offices under whose jurisdiction these Examination Centres are located is as follows:

A candidate has to give option for three centres, in the order of priority, within the same Region. No request for change of Centre of Examination will be considered later under any circumstances. SSC CGL 2026 – Application Fee

Women candidates and candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD) and Ex-servicemen (ESM) eligible for reservation are exempted from payment of fee.

Fee must be paid online through BHIM UPI, Net Banking, or Visa, Mastercard, Maestro, and RuPay debit cards. Once a fee is paid, it cannot be refunded, and applications that do not pay the required fee will be denied.
