JEE (Main) 2026 CRL-based shortlisting will be the basis for selection, with SSB interviews, medical examinations, and police and character verification coming next. Based on SSB scores and medical fitness, a merit list will be created. Candidates will be appointed based on the availability of openings in the entrance, police verification, and character verification. Stage 1 – Shortlisting Based on JEE (Main) 2026 CRL
Based on the JEE (Main) All India Common Rank List (CRL) 2026, Naval Headquarters retains the discretion to choose the deadline for SSB application shortlisting. Each applicant must include their CRL Rank in the application. The SSB interview schedule will be sent to shortlisted candidates via SMS and email. Until the screening process is complete, candidates are not permitted to modify their email address or cellphone number.
Stage 2 – Service Selection Board (SSB) Interview
Beginning in September 2026, SSB interviews for selected candidates would take place in Bengaluru, Bhopal, Kolkata, and Visakhapatnam. Under no circumstances may the SSB Center be changed. After receiving notification by email or SMS from Naval Headquarters, candidates are required to download the call-up letter. Candidates must carry a photocopy of the first page of their passbook or check leaf with their name, A/C number, and IFSC data. AC 3-tier train fare is acceptable for the SSB interview if they are applying for this specific sort of commission for the first time. In the event that an accident occurs during an SSB test, no compensation is possible.
Stage 3 – Medical Examination
Every applicant that SSB recommends must go through a medical examination in accordance with the requirements for 10+2 (B.Tech) admission. Medical standards should not be loosened for any reason. A second medical examination is not required for candidates who have previously been deemed medically fit for the NDA/INA on January 27. Under no circumstances may a medical hospital or center be changed.
Stage 4 – Common Merit List & Appointment
Final merit list will be prepared based on SSB marks and medical fitness. Candidates will be appointed subject to Police Verification, Character Verification, and availability of vacancies. All vacancies are to be filled as per service requirement and statutory guidelines issued from time to time.
